p.s. My Digital studio will be available tomorrow Oct. 1st. Purchase it from me and I'll send you a pdf file with instructions on how to create your first page and your first card.
One more page......this one took me a little longer. Again.... I used the template provided and made some changes.
Here's the changes I made to My Digital Studio page:
Added the title "What's Up?" (that required adding a Journaling box, choosing the font and font color.
Added flowers & circles and in that process I learned how to bring an image forward. Look at page and notice how the white dot circle is under the flower....all I had to do was bring the flower forward and it placed the dots under it. (Bringing an image forward is very simple, click on image, right click and the option of bringing it forward.)
Removed circles that had words on it.
That's it :) Very easy!!
Here's a tip....To duplicate an image (like the flowers) all you do is:
Right click
Click on copy
Right click
Click paste (will be your only option at this point)
This page took me less than 30 minutes to complete. I'm like a kid in a candy store!!
Again..... this page was created just by using the template provided.
Here's the changes I made:
Removed the lines from my Journaling box and the title (can't remember what it said ....it didn't apply to this photo).
Added a few more flowers around the Journaling box.
Enlarged the photo after making the Journaling box smaller
Removed from Elements from the top of the page (couldn't read what they said so I figured I'd remove them.....I could have enlarged them to see what it said...but I choose the easy route.)
Change the font on the Journal box.
Can you believe that's it?
I figured since my pictures were taken in Hawaii I can use flowers on my page. Not sure what I will use when I do the page for Brooke's surfing lessons.
Here's the first page I created with the New My Design Studio.
But wait....I didn't create it. All I did was use the template provided and add my photo.
Here's the changes I made:
I moved the flower above Chase's head up a little.
I changed the Hawaii 2009 font and made it larger.
I moved the flowers below Brooke down just a tad.
I changed the words in the test box under our picture.
That's all I did :) See what I mean about how simple it is....and it only took me a couple hours to load the software, load my Hawaii photos on this computer....then create the page. UPS delivered my order around 1pm and it's 3:33 and here's my first page.
Until I get training on the software I'll probably use the templates provided instead of creating my own.
So, what do you think?
See ya!
p.s. see the dot on my shirt that looks like a stain? not a stain...my sensor on my camera has a spot on it and it's on every picture I've taken for the past year (I usually Photoshop it out....but was in a hurry to do my first page and didn't take the time to fix my photo...it needed to be lightened and the dot removed).
My Digital Studio is very user friendly (if you can navigate Word, you'll be okay).
You do not need Photoshop experience.....nor do you need Photoshop.
It works on a Mac or a PC.
You can load it on two computers in your home.
You can use the software to create blog design & banners.
The software comes with over 2,000 images. That means when you purchase the software you do not need to buy any additional downloads until you're ready for more.
You can create Photo Albums, Cards, Calendars and Scrapbook Pages.
You can print them yourself or have them printed with the service Stampin' Up! will provide.
The Photo Albums are high quality. We were able to see them and hold them at Convention and you'll be surprised at how professional they look. When you give one of these albums as a gift, they will not believe you made it yourself :)
You can design your projects from Scratch or use the amazing templates provided.
My two cents.....
When I purchased my Mac I also decided to get Photoshop and get myself ready for Digital Scrapbooking. It's one of those items on my Bucket List. But I've really struggled with photoshop. I think it's an amazing software but it has soooooo many options that my brain can't remember what to do next. It's a photo software that allows you to Scrapbook. My Digital Software is a Design Software....what that means is you're directed to what step comes next.
I've spent many late night hours trying to Digital scrapbook.....but each time I find that I've forgotten what to do next. As your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator....I will commit myself to learn as much as I can to teach you all. But...seriously I think you're going to see right away that the software is just amazing!!
When I'm at Founder's Circle later this month I'll also get certified for the "My Digital Studio". I'm so excited andI'm sure you will be too.
I like to keep things clean & simple and I think having a blog just for "My Digital Studio" is just what I need.
My Digital Studio details....Demonstrators can pre-order the software and downloads effective Sept 1st. Customers can start ordering Oct. 1st. More details soon!!
